Norsewood & Districts' School is proud to support Daffodil Day! Our house leaders organised a morning of fun activities for all the students to participate in. Lots of fun was had by all staff and students while raising funds and awareness of cancer.
Arbor Day Planting 5 June 2019
120 years ago on the 1st of June 1899, children from Ormondville School planted 150 trees in the Ormonville Reserve. Today, the children of Norsewood and Districts' School celebrated the 120th Anniversary of the Ormondville Arbor Day by planting trees here too. We were told some amazing stories about how the children of Ormondville school used to hold their swimming sports in the river here! They used to take a week off to build a damn to make the river high enough to swim in. Ormondville School also built their own kiln, and the students used to collect clay from the river banks to fashion pots and vases for Mother's Day gifts.
Our students had an amazing time and loved learning some of the history of the area.
